Inside SkyRecon

Engineered, layer by layer.

Who it's for

Built for every type of pilot.

Whether you're a student, private pilot, or part of a flying club — SkyRecon adds an extra layer of safety and confidence.

Student Pilots

Build situational awareness from day one. Real-time traffic helps develop the habits that last a career. Pairs instantly with your flight school's nav app.

Private Pilots

Extra confidence on every flight. See the traffic that ADS-B alone misses, with CO monitoring running in the background. Turn it on, connect and fly.

Flying Clubs

One device, every aircraft. Portable and plug-and-play — move SkyRecon between planes with no installation needed. Shared ownership, personal safety.

Why today's tools fall short

A better way to fly.

Panel-mount installations mean downtime, certification hurdles, and four-figure invoices. Meanwhile, reliance on a phone alone leaves you with a flat battery or a dropped Bluetooth link at the worst possible moment.

SkyRecon sits between the two — a portable, purpose-built device that's ready before you taxi and keeps working when your phone doesn't.

Panel-mount avionics

  • Installation & certification cost
  • Aircraft downtime
  • Tied to one aircraft

Phone-only setups

  • No dedicated display
  • Battery & overheating risk
  • No CO monitoring
  • No proximity advisory

SkyRecon

  • Portable with a built-in screen
  • ADS-B receiver supplemented by SafeSky Inside
  • Continuous CO monitoring
  • Configurable proximity advisory

Connects to your nav apps

SkyDemon, ForeFlight and more — streams GDL 90 over Wi-Fi to apps you already use.

The technology behind the device

Three layers of awareness, working together.

Traffic, cockpit safety, and seamless app integration — pick a layer to explore.

Dual-band + SafeSky

Most complete traffic picture in a portable device.

Dual-band 1090 & 978 MHz ADS-B plus 30+ additional sources via SafeSky Inside — gliders, drones, and aircraft not broadcasting ADS-B. Coverage most portables can't match.

Frequently asked

Answers from the cockpit.

Which aircraft is SkyRecon compatible with?
SkyRecon is a portable device — no installation required. It works in any general aviation cockpit with a clear view of the sky and a 12V accessory port or USB-C charger.
Does it replace a certified ADS-B In installation?
No. SkyRecon is a portable, non-certified traffic awareness aid intended to supplement — not replace — certified panel-mount equipment and your own see-and-avoid responsibilities.
How accurate is the CO sensor?
The built-in electrochemical sensor monitors continuously and issues tiered alerts well before levels reach symptomatic thresholds. Full sensor specs and response curves will be published with the user manual before shipment. Important: SkyRecon's CO sensor is not a certified CO detector and must not be used as a replacement for one. Always carry a certified CO detector as your primary protection.
What apps does it work with?
SkyRecon broadcasts over Wi-Fi using the GDL90 protocol, which is supported by ForeFlight, SkyDemon, EasyVFR, and most other major GA navigation apps. Pair in seconds, no account required.
